I’m not into the whole “New Year’s Resolution” thing. After all, most people give up on those soon after February hits. I am more about creating a healthy lifestyle for me and my family from the inside out. With that being said, I made some huge changes at the end of 2015 that will help me accomplish these goals in 2016.
It is no secret that our bodies react negatively to stress. My body can’t handle stress as well as it did when I was in my 20’s. I am already on all hormone replacements and borderline diabetic (hereditary!) With family issues, my sister getting married (yay!), the holidays and two kids birthdays, I have allowed myself to gain 20lbs in two months. I know…..gulp.
I am now taking the proper measurements to “destress” my life as advised by my doctor. I have left my full-time job of almost 5 years to pursue my personal businesses and to be more available for my family and MYSELF. Putting myself on the back burner, although it feels necessary sometimes, doesn’t help anyone. If I am not healthy mentally and physically, there is no way I can take care of anyone else.
If this sounds like you, it is not too late. Take control of your life. Your mental health is just as important as your physical health. Take steps to make sure you are putting yourself first and DON”T FEEL GUILTY ABOUT IT! Love yourself so you will be around to love those around you. It’s 2016.
